Who We Are & What We Do
Canny Things came about from the idea we have long been toying with… the novelty of ‘stuff in a can’.
Our interest was piqued with the notion of combining this with the fascination of growing plants hydroponically. Thus we developed the HYDROCAN™ – initially focusing on culinary herbs, and expanding to include other vegetables and interesting flowering plants.
The idea of providing an easy and novel way for people of all ages to try their hand at hydroponics in their own home/kitchen, along with creating a recyclable/reusable and environmentally friendly product, was immensely satisfying. Hydroponics are based on replacing soil with nutrient-enriched water, providing a sustainable and space-saving alternative to the traditional method of growing in garden beds, particularly advantageous for those in urban environments.
Canny Things evolved in a humble rustic old timber garage – converted into a small office space – on a dreamy rural property in the Tweed Valley NSW. We hope you enjoy our canny things as much as we enjoy bringing them to you.
